AT THE START OF THE SHOW, WES BLAZE AND BIG DOUG MADE THEIR WAY TO THE RING TO SPEAK OF THEIR FRIEND AND FELLOW WRESTLER CHANCE MYERS WHO PASSED AWAY AND DEDICATED THE SHOW TO HIS MEMORY.

OUR FIRST MATCH OF THE NIGHT SAW THE ALLSTAR MAKE HIS WAY TO THE RING WITH THE SOUTHERN OUTLAWS(BLACKJACK MILLER & TIM DIXON) TO TAKE ON JASON FEAR. ALLSTAR HAD THE MATCH UNDER CONTROL UNTIL HE REFUSED TO USE THE CRUTCH OF TIM DIXON. AFTER ARGUING WITH THE OUTLAWS, JASON FEAR WAS ABLE TO SCORE HIS FINISHER FOR THE WIN. AFTER THE MATCH, THE OUTLAWS AND ALLSTAR HAD SOME WORDS.

MATT GILBERT THEN MADE HIS WAY TO THE RING TO TALK ABOUT TOMMY GAGE. BUT HE WAS QUICKLY INTERRUPTED BY BIG WILL WHO INFORMED MATT THAT HE WOULD BE IN ACTION TONIGHT, AND NOW! THIS BROUGHT OUT SHAWN RAGE. AFTER ALOT OF BACK AND FORTH ACTION, CODY AYERS MADE HIS WAY TO RINGSIDE TO DISTRACT SHAWN, GIVING MATT A CHANCE TO HIS A CRUCIFIX POWERBOMB AND GET THE PIN WITH HIS FEET ON THE ROPES.

THE DCW TITLE WAS THEN ON THE LINE AS THE NEW CHAMPION CHAD "THE BAD" CASE PUT HIS TITLE UP AGAINST FORMER ALLY BLACKJACK MILLER. CHAD CASE WAS ALSO AWARDED WITH A NEW TITLE. BLACKJACK SHOWED WHY HE IS THE POWERHOUSE OF DCW AS HE THREW CHAD ACROSS THE RING BUT CHAD WAS ABLE TO UPSET HIM AND SHOW HE IS A FIGHTING CHAMPION AS HE SCORED A ROLL UP ON BLACKJACK FOR THE WIN.

CHIP HAZARD AND JESSICA WETMORE THEN MADE THEIR WAY TO THE RING FOR THE NEXT MATCH AGAINST BIG RED ADAMS. PIPER THEN MADE HIS WAY TO THE RING TO ANNOUNCE THAT CHAD GUILIANI HAD BEEN SUSPENDED AND THE MATCH WAS FOR THE TAG TEAM TITLES! ALSO, HE WOULD BE THE SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE! CHIP CONTROLLED THE MAJORITY OF THE MATCH WORKING THE LEG OF BIG RED AND FINALLY RED GOT HIS HANDS ON JESSICA MUCH TO THE DELIGHT OF THE DCW CROWD. RED THEN GOT THE UPPERHAND ON CHIP AND WENT FOR THE FTL, BUT CHIP MANAGED TO REVERSE AND HIT A REVERSE DDT FOR THE WIN TO RETAIN THE TAG TEAM TITLES.

LOGAN CHASE THEN MADE HIS WAY TO THE RING WITH THE OLD DCW CHAMPIONSHIP AND DECLARED HIMSELF THE PEOPLE'S CHAMPION. HE WAS INTERRUPTED BY HAILEY RAGE WHO HAD A FEW CHOICE WORDS FOR CHASE. LOGAN'S PERSONAL SECURITY THEN GRABBED HAILEY BY THE THROAT CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO GO OUT AND SHAWN RAGE APPEARED IN THE RING TO CLEAR THEM OUT AND REUNITE WITH HIS SISTER.

MATT GILBERT THEN MADE HIS WAY TO RINGSIDE TO BRING OUT TOMMY GAGE'S OPPONENT FOR THIS WEEK, CODY AYERS. HE ALSO MADE IT A NO DQ MATCH. MATT MADE HIS PRESENCE FELT IN THE MATCH AS TOMMY AND CODY FOUGHT AROUND THE BUILDING. BUT MATT SHOCKED EVERYONE AS HE LAID OUT CODY AND MADE SURE TOMMY WON THE MATCH SO THE TWO WOULD GET TO FACE NEXT WEEK.

OUR NEXT MATCH WAS A TAG MATCH BETWEEN THE COMPETITORS OF THE GOLD RUSH LADDER MATCH AS WES BLAZE AND JOEY IDOL TOOK ON TALON WILLIAMS AND JOHNNY VIPER. WES GOT WORKED OVER THE WHOLE MATCH BUT WAS ABLE TO GET THE BIG TAG TO JOEY WHO CLEARED HOUSE. HE WENT FOR HIS PEDI-BREAKER BUT WES PUSHED HIM AWAY TO TRY THE OMG MOMENT. JOEY STOPPED IT AND THE TWO HAD CONFLICT. TALON & VIPER TOOK THE UPPER HAND ONCE AGAIN UNTIL THEY ARGUED. THE FOUR THEN BRAWLED UNTIL WES AND JOEY STARTED FIGHTING. JOHNNY & TALON ALSO BRAWLED AND THE REF RULED IT A NO CONTEST. ALL FOUR MEN BRAWLED AND THE LOCKER ROOM POURED OUT TO SEPARATE THEM. THIS IS FAR FROM OVER.

OUR SEMI MAIN EVENT WAS A MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH AS JESSICA WETMORE AND LOGAN CHASE TOOK ON THE TEAM OF DCW SOUTHERN WOMENS CHAMPION MANDA MAE AND COUSIN CLETUS. LOGAN DID NOT FARE WELL AGAINST ANOTHER MAN AND WAS HUMILIATED BY CLETUS, BUT THE BIGGEST UPSET FOR CHASE IS WHEN HE AND JESSICA BOTH WERE PINNED BY CLETUS AND MANDA WITH A DOUBLE SCHOOL BOY FOR THE WIN.

THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING WAS A TRIPLE THREAT MATCH WHICH PITTED THORN, EVAN RYMER, AND AARON MANU AGAINST EACH OTHER. ALL THREE MEN GAVE IT THEIR ALL BUT IT WAS AARON MANU WHO PICKED UP THE VICTORY AS THORN NAILED EVAN WITH A CHOKESLAM, GIVING HIM THE OPPORTUNITY TO NAIL THORN WITH HIS FINISHER AND GET THE WIN.

The show began with promoter Shane Noles introducing Lord Byron Jennings, the Director of Independent Promotions for the southeast region. The mic was given to Mr Jennings and he informed the crowd that he was there to make sure that they got their money's worth and the rules were strictly enforced. He and Noles then broke down the rules for the evening's Southern Cruiserweight Tournament. The eight wrestlers involved in the tournament made their way out to the ring and their names were added to a hat. The names were drawn under Jennings' supervision and the matches began.

The first first match saw PWA's mexican misfit, El Mexicano, taking on Ace Haven. Ace Haven managed to throw a couple decent arm drags but the match was all El Mexicano. El Mexicano pins Haven and moves to the semi-finals of the tournament.

The second match of the evening was the match-up Derrick Andrews Reynolds vs The Lethal Luchador. Reynolds seemed overmatched from the start and the Luchador picked up an easy victory.

The third match was "Wildfire" Tommy Rich taking on the Ultimate Dragon. Rich looked to be in better shape than last time we saw him and gave the Dragon all he could take. The matched ended up as a time limit draw. Unfortunately the tournament rules called for the winners of all draws this evening to be determined by a coin flip. The Ultimate Dragon won the coin flip and Tommy Rich had to be restrained.

The final match of the opening round was "Action" Mike Jackson taking on Collumbine. Collumbine put up a valiant effort but was no match for Jackson's experience. Jackson moves on to the semi-finals.

After the first intermission, the matches were drawn for the semi-finals.

The Lethal Luchador was matched up against one of his "Golder Rule" partners, El Mexicano. Both men brutalized each other throughtout the entire 15 minute match as it ended in a time limit draw. Another coin flip was utilized to determine the winner and The Lethal Luchador moved on to the final match of the tournament.

The Ultimate Dragon made his way to the ring amid a chorus of boos although there were several diehard Dragon fans cheering for him. "Action" Mike Jackson rushed to the ring and immediately went to work on the Dragon as the bell rang. After near falls for both men, Jackson hit the Dragon with several chops sending him to canvas where he went to work on getting his mask off. Jackson pinned the Dragon to win the match and move on to face the Lethal Luchador in our final round.

After our last intermission, The Lethal Luchador along with his Gold Rule cohorts, Ultimate Dragon & El Mexicano, made their way to the ring. Mr Jennings stood between the trio and the ring threatening to have them suspended if the Dragon and El Mexicano did not return to the locker room. Both men decided to take Jennnings' threat seriously and went back to the locker room. Mike Jackson made his way to the ring and the bell sounded.

The Lethal Luchador has been undefeated in his matches with PWA and he showed no signs of being tired after two matches this evening. Jackson matched the Luchador move for move and looked as if he might take back the title he once held. The Lethal Luchador rolled Jackson up for a pin using the ropes for leverage and was given the victory despite the crowds reaction to the obvious injustice.

The Lethal Luchador was handed the belt as his partners made their way into the ring. The Ultimate Dragon took control of the mic and congratulated the Luchador in his victory. He then told the Luchador that the Southern Cruiserweight belt rightfully belong around his waist because he was the defacto leader of the Golden Rule. The Luchador objected and was dropped by both of his partners. While the Luchador was on the ground, the Dragon worked on his mask and his face was revealed. After making his way back to his feet, the Luchador was hit in the forehead with the belt by the Dragon leaving him unmasked, bloodied and abandoned in the middle of the ring.

PWA notes: Attendance was 128. The next PWA show is scheduled for Saturday, 11/17/09, and will feature NWA National Champion Phil Shatter defedning his title against NWA Anarchy superstar Truitt Fields, a mixed midget match and The Ultimate Dragon vs The Lethal Luchador.

Wrestling at The Purks' big announcement!

Wrestling at The Purks has announced that they are bringing in TNA superstar Scott Steiner for their next show, 11/07/09. Steiner will face "The Butcher" Bobby Hayes and the show will also feature a match between former TNA star David Young and former WCW star Air Parris. Check back soon for results from the Wrestling at The Purks this past Saturday along with the full card for the Nov 7th show.

Steiner caused a near riot in Zurich, Switzerland over the weekend. Steiner ripped up a Swiss flag in the middle of the ring and the crowd reacted by throwing bottles and other debris into the ring. Because of fan's reaction and the debris in the ring, Booker T and his wife/valet Sharmell refused to participate in their match and walked out on the event. Check out the video below the see exactly what happened.

Let hope Steiner doesn't rip up a confederate flag in the middle of the ring on Nov. 7th! :-)

Taylor McKnight resigns from his postion at Great Championship Wrestling

- from Taylor McKnight

Effective immediately, I have resigned from Great Championship Wrestling.

I hope fans will continue to support the product, as the reasons of my departure have nothing to do with the wrestlers, the locker room, or anything the fans see. Every wrestler on the GCW roster, is a professional, exciting, and entertaining athlete well worth the price of a ticket.

Every wrestler in Great Championship Wrestling treated me with respect, even when i was still in the process of earning it. It was a privilege to work with them, and i only wish circumstances were different.

I wish whomever my replacement is, the best. For 2 years, i juggled announcing, video production, website design/editing/creative writing, online marketing, and promotion. I know plenty of people that are capable of these tasks, and this will create an opportunity for someone new to discover their dreams. I hope Great Championship Wrestling promotes Princeton Gainey, as his contributions have often been overlooked, and under appreciated. His passion, love, and desire to help in every way, has never been utilized, and now, like i always have, I hope GCW will realize that potential, and utilize him, and others within the organization.

As for me, I effectively resign from the offices of Great Entertainment, and thank everyone.

Taylor Mcknight

-from DCW

Our first match of the night saw Shawn Rage take on Psycho Scott. These two ring veterans took each other to the limit with fast paced action. Cody Ayers made his way to the ring to ensure his rival didn't win, and Psycho Scott walked out with another victory.

Cody then made his way back out to the ring with Hailey and Evan Rymer at ringside to take on his former partner Mr. G now known as Aaron Manu taking his samoan roots. These former friends battled it out knowing each other well but Cody came out on top as he defeated his former friend.

The third match saw new DCW champion Chad "The Bad" Case and former champion Bobby Blaze team up against The Allstar and Blackjack Miller with Tim Dixon at ringside on crutches and handcuffed to Big Doug! And once the Outlaw Army pulled their usual antics, Big Doug got free and nailed Tim Dixon. He also nailed Blackjack with a crutch. He then handed Allstar the crutch while the ref was distracted, and Chad and Bobby fell. The ref turned to see Allstar with crutch in hand and Case and Bobby got the victory by DQ, but this is far from over.

Matt Gilbert then made his way to speak his mind about Tommy Gage and called out his mystery opponent which was none other than Wes "OMG" Blaze. After a war of intros, the two battled on the floor and in the ring. Wes kept control the majority of the match and went for the OMG moment but Johnny Viper's music hit. Wes droppped Matt and waited for Viper who never showed. Matt took advantage and laid Wes out, hit the legdrop, and got the win. Wes vowed to get his hands on Johnny Viper.

"The Superfreak" Adam Young then made his way to the ring for one on one action against Vance Knuckles. Young had the match under control and his former partner Psycho Scott made his way out to nail Adam but accidentally hit Vance instead, allowing Adam to get the victory.

We then saw the three on one handicap match for the DCW Southern Women's Title as Manda Mae defended her title for the first time against Hailey, Logan Chase, and Jessica Wetmore. In a suprise turn of events, Hailey had a change of heart and decided to help Manda Mae and that she did as Manda retained the title. Logan and Jessica then beat them down until Cousin Cletus made his way back to DCW to help and challenged Logan and Jessica to a intergender tag match next week!

Tommy Gage was then forced to face his own partner, Big Will. Will tried to lay down for Tommy until Talon Williams got on the mic and announced that Matt Gilbert said if Will lays down, Tommy forfeits. Tommy then forced Will to compete by slapping him and the two had a all out brawl which poured into the crowd. Both men were counted out and Tommy Gage was left a bloody mess.

True Perfection(Chip Hazard & Chad Guiliani) then defended their newly won tag team titles against the unlikely team of Drew Game and Drake Draven. Drew and Drake got the win but the match was restarted. The two started to work together but it wasn't enough as True Perfection won the match to retain and walked out the front door once again with their titles.

Former BTY members then clashed as "The One" Joey Idol faced off against "The Messiah" Talon Williams. This was a all out brawl between former friends which took both men to their limits as the match ended in a double pin resulting in a draw.

Our main event of the evening saw Evan Rymer come to the ring making fun of his brother until Kevan made his way out ready for a fight. These two also brawled until Evan had enough and slid out of the ring to take the ten count.
