- from PCW

(1) Geter won a 20 man Platinum Royal. Basically a battle royal with a twist – the last survivor vs. the wrestler that scored the most eliminations would determine the winner. The winner earned a shot at the winner of the title vs. title match. Roderick Strong was the star in a field that included some PCW regulars (Geter, Michael Cannon, Timmy McClendon, Avant Garde, Lee Roy) and representative from other Georgia promotions like Sugar Dunkerton (CHIKARA/RPW), Chip Day (RPW), Hate Junkies (with Enoch Tsarion instead of the Reverend) (NWA Anarchy), Andrew Pendleton III (Anarchy) and Gym Class Heroes (GCW). Strong spent the early part of the match patrolling ringside. Pendleton made sure to take a couple of the ROH Champion’s vaunted chops before departing. The focus was the 6-5 400 pound Geter more than holding his own against Strong. Geter even no sold some of Strong’s chops. Dunkerton had his moment. He got into a chopathon with Strong that led to him eliminating the ROH champion. Geter was chokeslamming guys right and left. He eliminated Dunkerton. It came down to Avant Garde (Vandal & De La Vega), two little guys against Geter. They hit a big double team to put the big man down, but Vandal then eliminated his partner. The PCW fans popped huge for it. Geter choke slammed Vandal and tossed him out. Another really small guy, Najajism was said to have scored the most eliminations. Geter and Najajism went 7:44. Manager “Screamin’” Marty Freeman came to ringside to observe. It was virtually all Geter destroying the little guy. When Najajism finally got a comeback, Freeman whacked him with his cane. Geter gave Najajism a splash mountain, three splashes, and a Rikishi Driver before allowing the pin. Najajism was attended to by medical personnel. I should hope so. Geter isn’t much of a wrestler, but his shortcomings were well-disguised by the layout. His power stuff looked devastating. It was amazing to see Strong eliminated like just another guy in a battle royal.
(2) The Phantom defeated Magno in 18:03. Phantom is a very athletic but tiny guy under a mask. Magno looked like a giant and he’s not a tall. This was another case of a big person beating on a little person. There were just too many of them on this show. Fans were reacting to Magno’s stiff strikes. He used a crucifix powerbomb for a near fall. He started pulling Phantom up on pin attempts. Magno was killing the guy. Phantom made a miracle comeback with an Arabian Press and an off-the-mark Shooting Star Press for a near falls. Magno got a series of near falls, before Phantom won it with a Dragonrana that was nothing close to Dragon Kid’s version. One hell of a lot of near falls for a second match on the card, and a ton of finishing moves used up in only two matches. The PCW fans liked it. The other fans not nearly so much.
(3) Nemesis (with Brian Blaze) beat Colt Cabana in 9:28. It was so interesting to see Cabana get over with kids that had no idea who he was. Another of WWE’s mind short-sighted decisions – they’re doing a PG product and they had a guy that could go out and entertain people of all ages and couldn’t find a place for him. This match had a great heel/face dynamic. You had one of the Konkrete Gorillaz, a raging gangster from the hood vs. the playful Jewish guy. Nemesis talked about doing hard time based on his shoot prison record. Cabana said he also did hard time – two years in Hebrew school (he got a “that’s hardcore” chant with that line), four years in college and worst of all, two years in WWE. He said the Konkrete Gorillaz were Playdo Primates. Nemesis got furious at all of Cabana’s antics. As Cabana was chasing Blaze, Nemesis cut him down with a lariat to start the heat. Nemesis tried to give payback with a Butt-Butt, only to get cut off with a Butt-Butt. Cabana went topside. Blaze came up on the apron to distract. “Sensational” Jay Fury ran in an hit the Jaytrix on Cabana. Nemesis then pinned Cabana with the 500 Pounds (backbreaker variation). Great heat. Best match so far.
Fury started cutting a promo on Joe. That brought Joe out to kick his ass. Nemesis tried to save Fury with a chair. Joe saw Nemesis coming and grabbed the chair, but Fury kicked the chair into Joe’s face. Joe was laid out and required medical attention.
(4) Pandora beat Amazing Kong (with Miss Quinn) via countout in 7:53. The added stip was the loser would get lashed with Quinn’s whip. Pandora is over huge with the PCW fans. She and Quinn have major heat. Quinn said she was the queen bee of PCW, and Kong was going to beat Pandora “like the stubborn she mule you are” and the lashing would commence. Kong gave Pandora a ferocious beating. Kong’s freight train corner splash looked awesome. Pandora reversed Kong’s powerbomb into a facebuster. That looked great. They action spilled outside the ring. Kong tossed Pandora back in and got counted out. Quinn was furious. She lashed Kong when her back was turned. Kong dragged Quinn into the ring and left her laying with the Implant Buster. Fans wanted Pandora to lash Quinn. Pandora said she had Quinn at the Jungle on Tuesday night (September 28). Fans groaned at that.
Platinum returned to the ring to announce they might have to sub for Joe in the main event.
Platinum did an award presentation to Gary Juster for his contributions to pro wrestling and his assistance to PCW.
(5) PCW World Champion “The Revelation” Shane Marx defeated NWA World Champion Adam Pearce via DQ in a title vs. title match (16:45). Marx became the first PCW champion in March and has held the title ever since. He’s also over huge with the PCW fans. Pearce came out in the classic blue robe. He jumped Marx from behind. When that didn’t payoff, he tried to leave. Marx went after him. Both should have been counted out as they battled in the aisle. Back inside, Pearce begged for mercy. Marx got within a second of winning the title with a leg drop. Marx tumbled off the top when Pearce shook the ropes. Pearce went on offense with lots of punches. Nice punch to ribs under the armpit. He used a sleeper and cut off Marx’s comebacks. Pearce hit a top rope elbow but made a nonchalant cover. Pearce went up top and this time, Marx shook the ropes. Marx hit a superplex. Both men slow were slow to rise. Marx went for his DVD finisher but the ref got in the way. Pearce gouged the eyes and hit Marx with the PCW belt right in front of the ref. Fans hated that. Afterwards, Marx hit the DVD and stood over Pearce holding both belts in the air. A perfectly acceptable match given the constraints of the title vs. title. Marx was up to the task. Pearce makes a good old style touring heel champion. He did everything possible to make Marx and PCW look like gold.
(6) Washington Bullets (Jon & Trey Williams) beat Scott Steele & Mason (with the Witnesses) to win the PCW Tag Team Season Final in 12 minutes. A surprisingly good match. These four have worked together a lot lately and it showed. Opening minutes were a showcase for Bullets double teams - all beautifully executed. Trey went for a dive and Mason sacrificed a few Witnesses to avoid the blow. The heels beat up little Trey. Steele pulled off an impressive agility move for a guy his size - an up & over into a backflip into a powerslam. Steele always had the major league physique. The difference now is that his wrestling has gotten so much better. Jon got the tag and ran wild until Steele pulled the ropes down to dump him. It was little Jon’s turn to play babyface-in-peril. Steele hit a 12 second hanging vertical suplex. Off the hot tag, Bullets hit a flying stereo elbows on Steele, but took time to pose. Hey, this is for the season championship~! Match broke down. Mason had Trey in his Occam’s Razor submission. Steele went to spear Trey and got Mason instead. Steele tried to do the fancy backflip thingy again, and Bullets caught him with the Marion Barry (backcracker/ace cutter) for the pin. Bullets made a thank you speech for winning the championship (the concept is a tag team “season”. The titles won’t be contested again until the 2011 season). They’re awfully cocky for a babyface team.
Freeman came to ring with Geter and said that since there was no winner in the title vs. title, they could choose which champion to challenge, and since PCW was the future, they chose Marx.
(7) Cassandro El Exotico beat Dwight Power (with Jamie Holmes). Power’s ultra right wing skinhead is PCW’s best character creation for drawing heat.. Power said the fans should be ashamed of themselves. He claimed Cassandro and 30 of his family members found a hole in the fence due to lax border patrol and were all staying in the same hotel room. He said there was no God allowed in the schools, but it was OK for kids to cheer for a Mexican crossdresser. This was Cassandro’s first match since suffering a broken tibia on the ROH show in April. The fans adored the gimmick, and they loved his wrestling just as much. No signs of ring rust at all. Cassandro’s stuff was smooth as silk. Power (used to wrestling Georgia indies as Wil Platinum) is another tiny, skinny guy. That worked really in this case, because Cassandro’s offense looked great against him. Cassandro totally outwrestled Power. Blaze interfered and Power managed to hit a messed up version of his Final Solution finisher. He pulled Cassandro up by his hair. Finishing sequence was a beauty - booty to the face, huracanrana, a liplock, a missile dropkick and a leglock pinning combination.
