Kennesaw State University to raise money with pro wrestling event this weekend

KENNESAW - Professing wrestling and college volleyball couldn't be any more different from one another.
However, Platinum Championship Wrestling and Kennesaw State volleyball are collaborating to put together one of the bigger pro-wrestling shows in the Atlanta area at the KSU Convocation Center called "Sacred Ground: Chapter One" on Saturday night starting at 8 p.m.
Roughly eight matches will take place with both groups splitting the proceeds.
"What college volleyball team can't use more money," event promoter Steve Platinum said, "and we wanted to do a big show. It was a win-win."
Tickets are $10 with half of the ticket sales going toward the volleyball booster fund. If the event does well, the program can make up to $25,000, according to Kennesaw State assistant sports information director Jason Hanes.
